The Himalaya

The Himalaya is the top of the world (come on, I'm allowed one cliche). Everest, K2, Annapurna, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu.... The list of 8,000 meter high peaks is too long (14) to fit here. Suffice to say, this is arguably the most intense, most dangerous, and most spectacular range of them all.

Mt Fuji doesn't have the same extreme dangers as the other mountains that we've covered here, but it's iconic enough to deserve it's own entry. At 12,389.2 ft it's the highest mountain in Japan, and dare I say, the most beautiful as well. It's climbed by hundreds of thousands of people every year, but it can still be very dangerous due to extreme weather in the winter. But at least it hasn't erupted for a really long time....
